360 Video settings – Mushihimesama HD

360 Video settings – Mushihimesama HD

I just updated my 360 Video settings page with Mushihimesama HD (scroll down to the bottom). I also noticed (with this game)that at least using the Ultracade Universal Video Converter, the backgrounds will wobble (tearing) terribly unless SMOOTHING is enabled. I don't know if you'll get the wobble if you use a native 480p (or higher) display, but you might give the SMOOTHNESS setting a try if you have issues. I wanted to add video settings for Under Defeat HD as well, but the 4:3 mode is currently in need of an update patch so I feel I want to wait and see what'll happen....

XBox 360 | ESPGALUDA II Black Label – CAVE

XBox 360 | ESPGALUDA II Black Label – CAVE

Updated 2011-08-04 with No-miss Omake! YouTube video (scroll down) My love for CAVE and all of their excellent shooting games was originally brought on by Ketsui, but that wasn't an affordable title at the time, so instead I started to play ESPGALUDA. And more importantly, I started to play it for score and not only for survival. The latter way was how I've always played shmups, as this most of the time was how you got a high score in the shmup titles from the 80's that I grew up playing. Take Twin Cobra for instance, where your sole purpose in the game is to survive each stage without dying, as you get a stage clear bonus consisting of all the bonus icons you pick up. Of course survival is important in CAVE games as well, but unless you play daringly during each stage and keep away from using bombs your score will take a rather big hit.   I actually played ESPGALUDA...

My Guwange HORI stick

My Guwange HORI stick

TURNING TEKKEN 6 INTO GUWANGE INTRODUCTION I found a very cheap HORI Tekken 6 | Game + Artwork book + Arcade stick bundle, but never clicked with the stick or the artwork, so I started working on a fitting artwork, looking at hardware modding possibilities etc. The first thing I did was trying to make the sloppy HORI joystick feel more like the quality parts I'm used to. The easiest way I found someone had come up with was switching out most of the sucky parts for quality parts with just some light hardware modding. By switching out HORI guide to a SANWA JLF octagonal gate (you drill 4 holes in the latter) I felt that the stick handled much better. I then switched out the default microswitches for the stick with the kind used in Seimitsu LS-32, and also used a SANWA JLF spring that I pulled out to twice the original height....

XBox 360 Cabinet Themes

XBox 360 Cabinet Themes

"Cabifying" your 360 dashboard What's that you say? I noticed that you could browse pictures in the dashboard of the XBox 360 and decided to see if this could be utilized to create a "theme" of sorts. I then made an EGRETĀ II theme that worked really well in my cabinet. As I shared this on some arcade forums I frequent, the ball got rolling and now I've made a few more of these. Some have multiple versions with colour variations. How do I install them then? You download these images to a USB device that's compatible with your XBox 360, or if you have a Home network, you put them in a folder that you can browse to from your 360's Picture Library. When you have the image selected, press the Y button to use it as a background. Once you've done this once, a new theme will be created that you can select from your User account. Received this awesome RGB Scart to JAMMA adapter today from Australia. A couple of days ago I also got a pair of Akihabarashop's P360 so tonight I finished wiring it (no soldering nor crimping needed) them up like this: The RGB to Scart adapter picture have a nifty ribbon cable that you can move from the screw connector board (where I hooked up the P360, green screw connectors) to the one on the far right with the JAMMA controls passthrough board. I plan on using this setup for my low res only cabinet. I tried some quick PS2 hookup just to see the picture quality. It is brilliant! ...

I been making lots of posts over at the shmups forums about the Ultracade Universal Video Converter (discontinued) that I use to display my XBox 360 games in my EGRET II. The thread has lots of useful info on this, so I went ahead and copied all of the useful data over to a new page that I've made here should the info disappear sometime. The original thread got deleted by mistake once, and I don't want to go through with another re-write. Click the banner below to read. ...
